Shadowhunters - 2x11: Jace cries and Alec hugs him

I feel bad for him... everything is so awful in his life. The girl that he likes is with another one & he doesn't know who he is.

Okay but I love that Alec asked no more questions after he saw Jace cry, just hugged him and let him cry whilst he needed to.

This scene gets me every time!! I love it so I love that Alec finds him and starts talking about stuff that doesn't matter, but he then realizes that Jace isn't really answering or reacting so we get to see the Parabatai Alec being concerned about him. When Alec asks him if he is okay in that gentle voice my heart breaks. We see Jace not even hesitating before turning around and showing Alec that 'No, he is not OK'. Alec's face changes instantly when he notices that Jace is crying and doesn't hesitate to take a few steps forward and hug his parabatai. Jace doesn't say a thing in this entire scene but he knows that he doesn't have to, it's Alec, just Alec. Not someone who he has to act all emotionless and a perfect unwavering soldier in front of. Alec wraps his arms around him, even goes as far as slightly petting Jace's hair as he just holds him, letting him cry for how ever long he needs to be held, with no absolutely clear reason at all. It could be that he is finally showing his heartbreak after killing all of those Downworlders instead of destroying the sword/himself like he was trying to do, or it could be that he is crying about what a relief it is that Clary isn't his sister/his heartbreak about not wanting to break up her and Simon so he doesn't tell her until they are with Valentine and he is forced to tell her, which results in her getting mad, yells at him and then proceeds to storm off. Or it could be anything, maybe he just needs to feel human to feel like he is alive for real and not a freak'in robot. Whatever it is, Alec doesn't need to know, he just knows that his parabatai is hurting and needs to be comforted, so that is what he does. Jace knows that he is being held by someone who won't judge him, that will just stand there and be his foundation while he is crumbling into pieces. He closes his eyes and lets out a heart-wrenching shuddering breath. Alec barely moves and lets Jace steal as much as his strength as he needs. I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS SCENE AND THIS SHOW AND THEIR PARABATAI/BROTHER BOND AND JUST JACE AND ALEC AS INDIVIDUAL CHARACTERS, Jace a little more though. The writers might not be following the books exactly but it's okay when they write scenes like this. Almost every time I watch this scene (and its been more than a few times) I get a single tear on each cheek just slowly make it's way down my face and even almost continue down my neck. SO EMOTIONAL along with Parabatai Bond recitation in earlier this season!!! Sorry about the really long comment, who knew that a 0:46 second video could conjure up so many emotions!!

the subtle way with his eyes Alec silent says "come here little brother" when he sees Jace crying is so beautiful its like no matter what happens Alec is always going look out and protect his family Jace his brother, Izzy his sister, Alec is the best big bro on the show he hugged Jace here and told Izzy I love you too after she ran off and almost got them all killed due to her yin fin addiction.

This scene of Shadowhunters was almost similar to my story called Blood Brothers, where a wealthy teenager Kevin hugs his crying identical twin brother, Aiden when the truth about their real identities comes out.
