We review the Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Round 1 Boxed Set by Mezco Toyz.

These action figures are based on the 1968 movie Destroy All Monsters. They are part of the 5 Points XL series of toys.

This Round 1 includes:

Godzilla
Mothra
Anguirus
Rodan

We also compare these figures to similar figures from Bandai, X-Plus, and Revoltech.

I picked up both sets this weekend while I was at a local convention and I think they are great. The sculpts are fantastic while the interchangeable parts rock. It's also nice to finally have a Showa Ghidorah toy, which is what sold these for me. I hope they go a 64 Godzilla/Mothra set along with some MechaG ones. Would love to see King Caesar and Titanosaurus released. Since no one wants to do proper Showa figures in the 6inch scale that are fully posseable these will do.

I do wish they were a bit cheaper, like $50-60, but these already put the MonsterArts to shame.

I’ve never before seen a Mothra larva figure in this position, with the head raised and the feet visible. Pretty neat!

I don't really have the same problem with the mouth G-forever had, as I feel the closed mouth looks accurate, and while the open mouth is inaccurate it's only really here for the effect piece. That said this is still a really good review/overview of the figures

Maybe you can write a letter to Toho studio and Mezco toy company about introducing Kamacuras, Kumonga, Manda, Megalon, Varan, Mechagodzilla, Titanosaurus, Ebirah, Gabara, Headorah, King Caesar, Maguma the walrus monster, Jet Jaguar, 1960’s Mogera, and 1962 Godzilla and Kong battle royal sets.

I set up a poll on my account and the Godzilla Collectors Group on Facebook asking fans and collectors what sets of Showa movies would they like MEZCO to do in the future and Destroy All Monsters round 3 and Godzilla vs Gigan got the most votes, so maybe after Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla and Gojira we’ll get those next.
