I feel like we have missed the Cayenne/Touareg/Q7 triplets. First two preferable, given their diff locks for true off-road credentials. VAG off-road group as a reference…

I think you should consider the VW Touareg and The Porsche Cayenne of all ages great value second hand, they have the best 4wd system on the market. Good video thanks.

4x4s aren't my thing at all, but I do have a soft spot for some of the Japanese ones. Large parts of SE Asia will be very unhappy not to see a D-Max on this list though! I'm also disappointed that the 4x4 Suzuki Carry isn't around - although the one we get (including in Bedford Rascal form) is front-mid engined and RWD, just like an AMG GT-R, basically the same car 😄

I'm assuming the glorious Panda 4x4 will be on the even cheaper video! Got to have a Terios too I reckon, plus a Duster, an old X5, perhaps a Yeti and definitely a Volvo (go rogue...pick an XC70!).

Missed the chance to get the Defender on though, those would have had to go on this list. Since any Land Rover will be in the garage anyway, the fact they're old doesn't make them any less likely to work 🤣

I love them. But I'm buying a Toyota. They peaked at the Freelander 2 as an all round vehicle. Disco 3 is in with a shout too. They have made everything too complex to be reliable

If you go less than 5k I know that around 90% of people will disagree with me here. The Nissan XTrail, 2.2 T30, yes it’ll rot out underneath you however that engine will just keep going and the lockable diffs have got me out of a stupid amount of crap with no issues

I love my 2006 Lada Niva 1.7i 2121 4x4 i would never modifie it, upgrade it, sell it or break it ill just keep it forever becouse its best godly legendary offroader out there becouse LADA makes awesome cars

The Renegade has no right being on this list and all Disco owners know the 3 is vastly better than the crank shaft blowing 4

Jimny, Hilux, Pajero, Navara, all these are fine, the rest is pure crap on build and repairability.
Honestly I would only consider Jimny, Terrios, for the cheap driving around low consumption good to decent off-roading.
Then move up to a 2003/4 Hilux, same year L200, maybe a Navara though they had issues but it’s manageable, and the same year Pajero.
Anything else and newer is pocket hole.
Jeeps, VAG, and Land Rovers are rubbish.🤣
