Reading vlogs can be filled whatever you want! That’s what vlogs are about. To show a personal glimpse into your life and thoughts. When you speak with passion and genuine enjoyment, that’s when the video becomes the most enjoyable. So I’ll leave you in charge of figuring out what should be in the vlogs!

I love your new direction and sharing your enthusiasm for books. I also have autism and got disgnosed late. Been watching for a long time, was drawn to your channel because of the focus on classics. I’m really getting back into classics these last couple of years and am so excited about reading classics.

Currently I’m reading Sense and Sensibility. Maybe I will be able to pick my favorite Austen this year. It’s that or P&P, but it’s hard to decide.

Planning on reading Jane Eyre again this October 😊 Also re-reading Far From the Madding Crowd before starting my reading in publication of Hardy 😁

Have a great reading August!

I adore Wilkie and want to read more of his novels, but I've heard this one isn't that great, maybe try The Moonstone or Armadale? I've also heard No Name is really good. I really like Coleridge, I guess he is most known for Kubla Khan and Rime of the ancient mariner but my personal favourite is Frost at midnight, it's very soothing, I recommed reading it aloud in a quiet voice on a quiet evening!!! 🤗

Nice to hear from you, Lucy, as ever. It feels like there's always a good reason not to tackle Tennyson (a weighty Victorian edition of the collected works lives on the bedside table, collecting dust), but I'm neither an enthusiastic nor a sophisticated consumer of 19th century poetry. Goblin Market is a nice exception, but everybody likes that one, surely. A E Housman is to my taste and he just about qualifies if you stick to A Shropshire Lad, so that's a tentative recommendation. Looking forward to more upcoming vlogs.

Glad you're back!

As a viewer from across the Atlantic, have you tried Emily Dickinson or Elizabeth Bishop?

I've heard the name Ali Hazelwood, but haven't read any of her books. I may just try one! Any suggestions for romance reading, whether classic or contemporary, would be fab!

My favourite passage in a poem says: "At the edge of sweet sanity open / such wild, blind wings" (Mary Oliver, Rapture)

I like romance, I will try Not in Love for sure. Have you read Abby Jimenez? She is also quite good, I would recommend Part of Your World to start.

I love Christina Rossetti’s poetry if you are looking for more Victorian poets and Emily Dickinson’s poetry is great too!

I'm afraid The Haunted Hotel is not one of Wilkie Collins' best, but I hope you have a much better experience than I did.
