One of the most enduring qualities of the Wolverine is his compassion for children.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the music in this scene!? Like, when Logan touches Rogue's forehead with his bare hand and then pulls her close to him in a hug, knowing fully we'll that it'll kill him, with that gorgous score, it's just so emotional!

Little known fact: After this revival, Rogue develops a personality of Wolverine, as if she is daughter of Wolverine.. in animated series it is shown more clearly, and Rogue is like adopted daughter of Logan.

I love how Logan cares about Rogue so much. It shows how he’s not the cold uncaring animal he had been made out to be during X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Looking back on it, this scene laid the groundwork for one of the most interesting things about Logan: the one way to kill him.
As long as he could heal, he was unstoppable. But now, "The Wolverine" and "Logan" later, we see how this has always been the case. And in this first movie, we see how he is willing to give that up.
Not to be rid of it and finally die.
Not because he has gotten too old for it.

But to protect and heal someone dear to him.

I’ll still argue Anna was good casting for Rogue. Unfortunately they didn’t give her much to do in the next two sequels.

This wonderful piece of music perfectly captures Wolverines love for rogue, he is willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to save her life at the expense of his own. Nothing can beat that level of connection that he had with her, and the music makes you feel that deep down it brings a tear to your eye.

Shame Rogue didn’t get more attention in the movies after this. She’s such an awesome character in the comics & animated stuff, and her relationship with Gambit is far more interesting than Iceman!

Wolverine / Rogue is the best combo. Too bad they didn't do this in the reboot (yet)

He took the pain knowing he could possibly die and he did it to save/heal her 💔 I wish I could heal and save my daughter myself and everyone I care about

Logan proved 2 b a wonderful father, even before the 2017 film Logan. He's always protecting & looking out 4 Rogue.

Movies don't have memorable music like this anymore, including X-Men.

What I really love about these movies is their love and compassion for children. Logan and the X men are truly heroes.
