A little info on dog holes.Go with the 2omm holes Then have a sleeve made to reduce it to 3/4". Now you have the best of both worlds of 3/4" & 20mm dog holes just with a sleeve

They need to marry the TSO Power-Loc dog tightening mechanism with the tall clamp. I think the angle of the clamp in the hole will distort the hole over time and make the bench dogs sloppy.

I have those in the craftsman brand I bought from Sears along time ago. I bought a bunch of both types and have never used them.

I have these in red. I really like the vertical clamp. I think the festoon in-line clamp is better than the armor in-line clamp.

I agree with Mike, I have used these clamps and I stopped because I noticed the holes getting stretched out and deformed

Hi Ron,
You have a great amount of information that is vastly useful to some silver-haired troglodyte career mechanical-structural engineer, needing to stand on the shoulders of folks like you... to get my house built inside & out, with these two hands... here in the Republic of S. Texas... hill-country, very wild.

QUESTION -please- about dog-hole clamps;
Many a MFT tops appear to be 3/4" thick.
Too thick a MFT top, the 90-deg. bend of those dog-hole clamps will not negotiate the hole depth (table thickness).
Do you know if a 1" thick MFT top will accommodate most of the popular dog-hole clamps?
Or, what over 3/4" is the general maximum (useable) thickness?
-
One DIY video shows a home-built MFT that began with two (2) sheets of 3/4" plywood glued together for the table top... making it more than an inch thick, ... with many dog holes in it.
Got me wondering.
Thanks!

Hi Ron. I was interested in building my workshop trailer using your plans where the miter saw is mounted along the bench and the dividers are on each side of the saw. I can't find a site that will allow me to view that particular combination, so I'm sure I buy the correct plan. Any help or link would be appreciated. Thanks.
