History: had rhinoseptoplasty in 2016.
Symptoms: unilateral pain/pressure under left cheekbone; no discharge, lasting several days, recurs every few months. Chronically obstructed left sinus; reduced airflow. Also, chronic TMD and bruxism.
No amount of nasal corticosteroid sprays, daily saline rinses, etc. prevent recurrence, provide symptom relief nor address the underlying anatomic issues. Oxymetazoline is the only decongestant that works to provide temporary relief of congestion, but cannot use for more than a day or two. It does nothing to relieve pain/pressure.

CT just came back. Impression: Mucosal opacification of the near-complete opacification of the left maxillary sinus. Opacification of the left ostiomeatal unit. Deviation of the nasal septum to the right.

Septo revision with endoscopic uncinectomy?

This surgery destroyed my life and has destroyed other people's too. My life is unbearable now. I have Empty Nose Syndrome from nasal turbinate surgery. Medical methods are not the only thing that need to be tried before surgery as indicated in the video---also take a very hard look at your diet. If you are honest about what you eat every day, can you really be surprised that you're having sinus problems?

I had bilateral fess, septoplasty, and turbinate reduction done 6 weeks ago. Recovery was long and im continuing to deal with a sore throat, sinus headaches and horrible discharge. I did need packing and nasal splints that were removed 1 week post op.

This surgery destroyed my life. None of the doctors talk about Empty Nose Syndrome when they are pushing this surgery in the videos. I feel like I'm suffocating. It is a living hell you can't imagine. I think about suicide every single day from the constant suffering.

Can you spot and differentiate a definite mucocele retention cyst from a malignant/cancerous cyst on a CT scan ? I have 2 in my sinuses that I am CERTAiMN arose from nasal antibiotic and baby shampoo irrigation treatments advised by my dr. He says its just a cyst, and another dr says he doesnt know unless he did a biopsy thru surgery (bc its in the ethmoid that is unreachable unless cut). I knw nasal cancer and cancer cysts in the sinuses are rare, but considering all the chemicals that were irrigated 2x a day for 30 should I be concerned that these are more than just a benign cyst? Please help! I dont know what to do.
Thanks

I had sinus surgery at Hopkins. Don't go there. Sinus surgery is risky at best. I have had 4 sinus surgeries. Bad outcomes all over the place. I have a patient that is 100% disabled after a few sinus surgeries - intense pain most days of a week. I had one ENT tell me not to have any more sinus surgeries. I wish I had met him 20 years ago. Daily pain. ENTs are clueless.

Doctor did not consider alternative treatment in my case. I wonder if it's because of trauma or he just didn't wanna try
