You have it placed incorrectly. It really should be located where there's a bit of open space above it as they do use the visual cues. The tree/bush branches should not be so close to the top. I have this same trap and get at least that much in a week and I dont even have that much mosquito pressure anymore.

How much were the units? I'm wondering if this is better than the mosquito magnet device.

How has your trapping been this year? With it being so wet in the northeast this summer, the mosquitos are out of control. I just bought my first trap with the co2 system. Hoping it had a big impact.

Does anyone have a good recepie for DIY mosquito-lure? The ones they sell are extremely overpriced. (like 50-100x margin if you compare the active ingredients price)

I have 2 traps running CO2 and I've been experimenting with some 85% lactic acid - just applied few drops on the Biogents lure after it was a month old, seems to work but i have no good comparison. There are also the R-octenol, hexanoic acid (caproic), Butyric acid etc to test out.
The goal would be to figure out the optimal formula, design and application interval.

I think the lure to be effective it can't release too much of the attractant or else it starts to smell suspicious to the mosquitoes and have the repelling effect which i noticed few days after applying the lactic acid. So the design must be just right..
Perhaps some absorbant material like perlite in a tic-toc box which has been soaked in diluted lactic acid?

Also, would adding a heating-mat under the device improve the effectiveness?

After putting this up did the number of mosquitos noticeably decrease? Thanks!

It is necessary for me. But, unfortunately, not in Turkey.
