American music producer Quincy Jones dies

Quincy Jones, the music producer and composer, has died at the age of 91.

Mr Jones worked with Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles and countless other artists.

Among his best-known credits was as the producer of Jackson's historic Thriller album. He also composed the soundtrack to the hit 1969 British film The Italian Job, starring Michael Caine.

In the 2018 biographical documentary "Quincy, " on Quincy Jones and his life, there is a video clip of Quincy Jones being interviewed by Oprah Winfrey, where Quincy Jones makes an interesting statement, saying that he and his contemporaries were not done making music, and that he and his contemporaries would continue making the best quality music they could, to leave behind for future generations.

The way Quincy put it, is that we want our work to speak for itself, so much so, that future generations "will know we came through here." Loved the way Quincy put it. For what it's worth Mr. Jones, future generations will know the likes of Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Louis Armstrong, Elvis Presley and Prince "came through here, " and future generations too, will know that Quincy Jones "came through here."

Rest in Peace, Mr. Jones.
