Caskets also used to float to the surface after a heavy rainstorm my grandfather dug Graves in the 30's and after a storm he had to check and re bury any Graves that popped out

And another reason caskets were buried 6' was due to disease. You provide a service to so many and I thank you for the respect shown to families. ❤

I was a gravedigger for 4 years, and it was hard to see families absolutely crushed and sad . I literally would go home and cry sometimes, its a hard job to do ....

Another reason is that in places where there is flooding, casket would float to the top. This is the main reason it is 6 feet. Caskets and dead bodies would float around towns after major storms.

The man that digs almost every grave in my county still digs every grave 6 feet deep and offers to dig full sized graves for children who pass without charging extra. He's old fashioned and considers it the proper and respectful way to bury someone. He works a full time job and digs graves after hours and on his off days.

btw, we don't have any prefabricated vaults like this in Germany at all.. the casket is made from wood and the casket and body are left to their natural course of decay

That box right there is why when i die im opting to become a tree in my will . They take your ashes mix it with soil, plant a seed in it and put it in a biodegradable earn that will grow a tree. Truly returning me to the earth . Its also way cheaper then traditional burial

Fun fact. Each casket also contains information of remains and the location of the grave inside a tube incase the casket does come out of the ground.
