Being invisible has been my first line of defense since I was a child. I'm over 70 now, and it still works.

If you're invisible, you have less enemies, less evil eyes, and more control

I’ve always kept this quote close “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”

I deleted my social media over a year ago and I LOVE how free I am. No longer attempting to manage my image while balancing the opinions of others is PURE BLISS. Great video🤝🏾

I've been invisible for many years, quietly living a rather solitary existence...watching and observing, not allowing anyone to complicate or diminish my life. Every day, there's always something to do or something to learn

Im in my 30's and I dont want relevance, I want peace in my life. Being invisible is working out very well for me. What I want, think, and feel is what matters. I pursue interests that I like, I don't follow trends. I can focus on my goals and pour more energy and time into myself. I have privacy and its peaceful 😊

I have always been too introverted to be comfortable showing to true self to the public. I like be invisible. It's.... peaceful. It's nice and quiet and cozy.

The moral of the story is that there's nothing wrong with being a nobody. There's nothing wrong with working toward your own small goals. Or with not being wildly successful, whatever that even means. There's nothing wrong with having only a tiny sliver of influence on the people that matter to you

Your anonymity is the true essence of the "Einzelgänger" project. If you revealed your face like all those narcissistic YouTubers, perhaps you would have deprived the audience of the calm and the serenity that you transmit with your voice and wisdom. Thank you for being what you are because you have helped me weather many hard days and moments.

My mother put it like this, "If you're running around trying to be someone else, who's going to be you?"
Other thing she told me was a Mark Twain quote.
"The two most important days in your life are the day you were born and the day you find out why

In danish we have a saying that goes "den der lever stille, lever godt". It means "he who lives a quiet life, lives a good life". I follow this philosophy a lot in relation to social media, and it is also the reason why I would never strive to be a celebrity in any way shape or form. Glad to have some words put onto it.

*IT TOOK ME 40 YEARS* of being a big somebody to realise that its OK to be a nobody, and its quite nice...

There's nothing more authentic than to embrace the simple lifestyle when it deeply resonates with you on the inside.

Being nobody is the only real freedom... due to the way this world has become.

I have always subscribed to the philosophy of invisibility and I agree with the reasons you have provided. I think it began with not wanting to play the games that others play and finding that attention seeking people were pretentious. Initially I was ostracized by others and felt hurt and excluded. Growing up with low self esteem prevented me from taking the center stage or feeling self important and worthy of people's attention. After spending so much time alone and watching others rise and fall, I realized just how lucky I was to be unnoticed. I wanted the superpower of invisibility. I began to make sure that I looked ordinary and avoided the limelight. In doing so, I managed to avoid negative attention or be bullied or suspect. I think the biggest challenge to living this lifestyle was to find a way to become financially independent. Once you are no longer reliant upon others financially and for approval and attention, you can truly be free and do almost anything you want virtually unnoticed.

I used to love the concept of invisability. Due to trauma of course. But even after being healed.. i love being invisible. Its so freeing.

During my school days we had the poem "Ozymandias" our English text book. The message stuck with me for the rest of my life. No mater how great you and your accomplishments are, time & competition has a way of erasing all. In the end you sacrificed the precious you to be something in eyes of the world just to be lost forever in the future. Such a waste, such a waste....
