7:00 i seem to love giving facts about the fires here in Australia so here is something that is interesting and kinda sad to know
the fires just here in the state of New South Wales have burnt more than 3 million hectares just since September (editied: got notifications from this comment and as of 11th of Feburary 2020, over 13million ha has been burnt), since july 900k ha was burnt in the amazon and this year 1.8 million ha in California, so far more land has been burnt here than in both those events and our fire season normally only starts around now, so with how much has been burnt in NSW and also now with large fires starting to now burn in the state of Victoria and South Australia and the drought sadly so many trees here are dying, if i look out my front door at a mountain very close to me, most of the trees on it are burnt and the rest of them are dying from this drought.

edit: also we have a government who don't give a single crap about our carbon emissions, who cut the rural fire service's budget by over 70%, fire and rescue by 33% and parks and wildlife by 200 million dollars which has cause 26 out of the 36 fire manager officers in NSW to be fired and they are the people who manage hazard reductions.
