Very enlightening. I knew much of this information as my area of University study was the 2nd British Empire 1784- 1837/1867.

Fun Fact II: New Brunswick is named after the British monarch, King George III (yes, that one Americans), who also held the title of Duke of Brunswick, an area in the Holy Roman Empire. The colony was named in his honor when it was created in 1784.

Fun Fact I: Prince Edward Island (PEI) is named after Prince Edward, Duke of Kent and Strathearn. He was the father of Queen Victoria and was commander-in-chief of British North America at the time the island was named in his honor in 1798. Before that, it was named “St-John’s Island.”
