I used to run a fleet of these. I recommend you replace the o-ring on the inlet manifold these go flat over time and cause a leak leading to a weak mixture. Also the needle can wear and venturi tube can wear oval I would check both with a magnifying glass.

My CD185 Benly had a similar ignition problem - especially in the rain, when one cylinder would cut out. I seem to recall it really needed new ignition leads, as they were tracking in the wet, but on mine you had to replace the whole coil/HT leads as they were all one unit, preventing just replacing the HT leads. WD40 always sorted it. If the chap you got this from gave you a new coil, I would bet the old one has an issue! Swopping them over’s quite quick and easy.

Always annoying when you can't get to the bottom of a fault.
My money is, that it is something really silly.
