0:06-0:23 That scene always disturbed me. That was someones' wife or even caregiver at one point. I feel the owner would be pissed off at that. Also, the whole "I'm real." really sticks into my inner core. Maybe because of my own fight to be validated by society and to be consider worthy of having the same existence as everyone else. Regardless of time and place, those of us with disabilities and disorders have always been viewed as less valuable and less than human by every culture and nation. I guess that is why we are so readily to accept robots and machines into our lives.

There's an irony to the war between the machines and humanity; had we bothered to treat them with respect, we could have lived peacefully with them. Instead, we have to react the way we always have to people that are "different;" start a war with them. Yes the machines may have initially been built by humanity, but we truly did bring this upon ourselves

I find it kind of reasuring that most people that watched the seccond renaissance understood the message.

Why oh why didn't the UN accept the plan? A brilliant, well-thought-out system of co-existence was right before their eyes.

I think they chose to show the machines being dumped in a mass grave similar to how humans dumped the bodies of dead soldiers or how the Nazis dumped the victims of the concentration camps into mass graves. In reality, it would make sense that humans would recycle the metal of the robots for weapons of war etc. But it fits the images and message of the story more to show how wasteful and cruel humanity can be.

I just noticed that the first and last robot ambassadors to the UN each carried an apple respectively. However, the 2nd apple, like its bearer, were much darker than the 1st. What do you all think the significance of that fruit is in this context?
