Nine Pound Hammer - Radar Love [Extended Version]

Показать описание
This is an extended version I made of “Radar Love” by Nine Pound Hammer, which is a cover of Golden Earring’s song, Radar Love, which came out in 1973. Nine Pound Hammer’s version was released on Wednesday September 21st, 1994. In this extended version of Nine Pound Hammer's cover of "Radar Love," the energy of the original is amplified with a longer instrumental break and a raw, aggressive sound that embodies the band's signature style. Nine Pound Hammer, a cowpunk band from Kentucky, United States of America, brings their gritty, high-octane blend of punk rock and country to the classic hit. The song was originally released on their album "Hayseed Timebomb" in 1994, where they infused "Radar Love" with their Southern roots and hard-hitting approach. It is also on their album Mulebite Deluxe which was released on Tuesday October 10th, 2017 – a reissue of their 1995 album Mulebite, which was released on Wednesday April 19th, 1995.
Nine Pound Hammer is known for merging the rebellious, fast-paced essence of punk rock with the storytelling and twang of country, creating the unique genre of cowpunk. Cowpunk music typically combines the raw energy, simplicity, and attitude of punk with country influences like rockabilly, honky-tonk, and outlaw country. This fusion results in an edgy, high-energy sound that often appeals to fans of both genres.
About the Original "Radar Love"
The song "Radar Love" was originally released by Golden Earring, a rock band from The Kingdom of the Netherlands, on their album "Moontan" in 1973. Golden Earring is one of the most well-known Dutch rock bands, recognized for their mix of hard rock, progressive rock, and a touch of psychedelic sound. "Radar Love" became an iconic road trip anthem with its driving beat, propulsive bassline, and lyrics about a long-distance relationship maintained through an almost supernatural connection.
In this extended version, the essence of Nine-Pound Hammer's punk-country fusion has not only been preserved but also Golden Earring's classic rock sound, has been honored, creating a fresh take on a song that spans decades and genres.
