2018 is NOT the last year for the Type R, please don't spread false information.  Don't believe the lies a dealership salesman told you in order to justify the $10, 000 added dealer markup they were asking when you bought your car.

Great history and detailed info about the bodywork functionality, as well as release info. Joe Raiti does not rely on info from dealerships. In fact, he was educating his sales person on the facts about the 2017 and 2018 release info.

I would much rather have a brand new 2001 Phoenix Yellow Acura Integra Type R. If Honda ever brought that car exactly how they made it back then, it would outsell anything.

On another note, thanks for the review.  I'm not a reviewer myself, not really wanting to get on camera.  There's a few hundred other YouTube car reviews anyway that would probably do a much better job than I would.  Always interesting to see a reviewer find or show details that haven't been pointed out before.  As a person who is very technical, I think that's probably the parts I enjoy the most.  Being a Honda fan for 35 years now, I plan on purchasing a Type R in the near future, but refuse to pay any additional dealer markup over MSRP.  I've purchased many other Honda vehicles and don't mind waiting for the price to be more reasonable as well as getting a few of the reported bugs worked out.

You are honestly the first person I’ve seen who prefers the RS over the Type R. I’ve been watching a ton of videos on here and everyone for some reason prefers the type r.

Foreshadowing: You said Focus on the task at hand in this video Joe. As an owner of a Focus ST3. And yes I love the RS. I still would have not gone from The Honda Type R to an RS. Just my opinion. But they are both such nice whips. Did you have any gear grinding in your Honda?

Nice video, learned a couple of new facts. Did any of the previous Civic Type R's have an engine that revved to 9k though, only the F20C in the S2000, surely?

Honda really needs to get with the times, fwd Is out dated, make it awd, they FINALLY went supercharged but got rid of the intake and exhaust lobe vtec combo which was the best and the most fun vtec to have , the “ real vtec “. If they made a light 2800 lbs at least, type r with “real vtec” and supercharged awd system, no hatch would be able to compete, now that would be a real race car Forsure 👌🏻

Been debating on trading in my high mileage ST for a type R....just running into slight problems (still love my ST but I think I need to move on.) would you suggest this car (might purchase used with super low miles) also I live in the great american rust belt (Wisconsin).
