Oldwolf Workshop Studio - Roubo Press Vise

I built a press vise shown in the historic woodworking tome written in the 18th Century by Andre Roubo and published an article on the build in Popular Woodworking Magazine (August 2014 Issue) .

At first blush a press vise appears to be an appliance for veneering surfaces, but Roubo writes that it can also be used for "solid wood." Earlier this summer I needed to glue up some sizable chunks of walnut for turning blanks so I used one of the smaller prototypes for the project to help me.
