KartRider: Drift is SHUTTING DOWN ON EARLY 2025!!!

An update video to the previous KartRider: Drift shut down video. Nexon and the devs announced KartRider: Drift will be permanently shutting down some time on early 2025. The exact day and time is still not announced, which I find it very odd when other gaming companies like EA and Ubisoft announced the exact day when they are permanently shutting down a game.

I am surprised that Nexon is keeping KartRider: Drift alive to make it to 2025. I thought the game was gonna permanently shut down either in 1 month (End of August / Early September) or in 3 months (End of October / Early November). I didn't think KartRider: Drift would actually make it to 2025, but it will make it to 2025.

I don't play KartRider: Drift nearly as much as I used to back in Preseason to Season 5 as well as the "Rise" update. Upon the "Northeu" update to now, I barely even play the game as the game is dead with dead queues.
Item mode is still playable, but Speed mode (along with Mode Lab) is dead and unplayable.
I also don't like the way "Ranked" is for Item Mode and Speed mode currently in the game. Players gain points at any place even when DNFing / retiring at 8th place and never lose points. The risk and reward factor in true Ranked mode is gone since the "Rise" update took it away.

Also, KartRider: Drift is a one year old game as well. The game's Year 1 anniversary was on January 11, 2024 and I don't think it's gonna get any better from there with the lack of a playerbase.

I think I proved enough that I liked and enjoyed KartRider: Drift when I reached Top 1000 in Season 1 Item Grand Prix and reached Master Rank 3 in Season 2, 3, 4, and 5 Item Grand Prix. My problem with the game is the long queue times due to lack of players playing this game.

With how KartRider: Drift is losing its players, I don't think it has a future. The game will permanently shut down soon. (Well, not "soon" soon. But soon as in one or two years, which is a very short lifespan for a free-to-play online-only game.)

KartRider: Drift is a free-to-play racing game for PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Mobile (iOS and Android) platforms.
Basically KartRider: Drift is gonna be available for every platform with cross-play except for the Nintendo Switch (as the Switch already has Mario Kart). lol

I just tried Kart Rider Drift a few weeks ago and it was pretty fun and did have players. It's sad that they would just kill this game globally. The "StopKillingGames" movement needs support

I had fond memories of playing the og crazy racing kartrider back in the 2000's. It sucks seeing the game like this, especially since I just remembered about Drift and downloaded it on Steam last night. Not a big fan of these changes like you said, it's clearly out dated and shouldn't be added. I can just make a Taiwan account, but is it really worth going through the trouble if Nexon is treating its players like this?

seem the right time to rip some asset kart from this game, turn into Blend file, than slap it to Godot game Engine and make own Private server Kart Rider (drift and origin)

I think the origina kartrider 1 is still able to be played in China.
