Awesome to see that Tales of Alethrion have inspired you with our style and stories and thank you so much for showing it and letting your community know about our channel and series :) It seems like we like a lot of the same things. Have an epic day, my man! Did you watch the latest Tales of Alethrion episode Daughter's Revenge? High Five, Mikkel Mainz

Ethan is not an artist. He is a goddamn art engineer. This man can reverse engineer most of the drawings like an area 51 scientist reverse engineers some alien tech.

Hey Ethan, codirector of Sundown here ! Thanks a lot for featuring our little film, we're very happy to know you enjoyed the style ! Every other example in the video is an absolute choice pick, it's a pleasure to see.

haven’t watched the video yet, but to see you use worthitkids’ work as the thumbnail image really made me happy.

I actually found my style by copying my favorite artists style. I used to think that it's wrong to copy someone's style but then I found out that my favorite artists style is also influenced by their favorite artists, check who they are following and you will see where they get inspiration from. If you like something copy it, get inspired by it and most importantly learn from it.

Everyone’s gangsta until Ethan calls *himself* the baby

Although ethan is right on getting *a* style. If you want something very personal then listen to this as well. If you imagine art like a test and the limbs and other features as questions, then your style is your answer to that question. If you copy another artists answers then your style wont feel distinctly yours because it wasnt your answer. You can certainly take notes but how you interpret and simplify the fundamentals, like simplifying a equation, is how you develop a style.

Can we just stop and acknowledge Ethan’s character arc? ... I mean, I used to be a baby to this guys, now we’re sitting down and having a couple of laughs... 😂

Came at the right time, was struggling to find my art style for the longest, I overlook it way too much and end up getting really stressed about it bc I haven’t found my “style” or I expect my style to not change since ik my taste would change in the future.

Obsession on the pursuit of art style is probably overrated anyway. What's important is to improve your fundamentals, skills and aesthetics in general, and the style will come as you work.

If you're thinking of standing out with an art style, most audiences can't usually tell individual artists between different art styles because there are only so few variations and so many artists.

Nobody talkin bout "komugiko" singlehandedly carried the jp music video animations to another level...

The "SUNDOWN" short looks like it took a lot of inspiration from the animation style seen in Tekkonkinkreet or Masaaki Yuasa's works (Mind Game, Devilman Crybaby) and I absolutely love it. COLZA is so beautifully done too. God, people at Gobelins just produce stellar work.

notes-
1. research different types of styles. Watch things and deconstruct them to what the character is actually doing
2. think about the character and their personality while animating/drawing them
4. ambience and beats matter in animatic as it can flip the feeling completely. get in the headspace and feel of the video/idea you want to portray while making it.
5. STORYBOARDS also breakdown and study styles you like/ want to draw like
6. STYLE IS NOTHING WITHOUT THE STORY BITCH.
7. never stay on the same thing try branching out and developing your style but not to the point where it becomes not fun to do drawing.
