When I watched this live I had chills. We all expected a let down but what we got was amazing.  I've just watched this again for the first time in two years. At the time I don't think we appreciated just how good it was.  It wasn't just amazing, it was outstanding.

This isn't the right audio, it wasn't out of sync in reality and Valerie didn't come on after Bonkers, it was mixed into a Bhangra beat. It's a shame that the only TV clip on YouTube of this performance is messed up.

This makes me immensely joyful, even as someone not born in the UK, to be a British citizen, it reflects so well on the unity of an evermore dynamic and forward looking people of whom I'm very proud to be part. Dizzee nailed this. God save the Queen.

When I first saw Leona Lewis and Jimmy Page at the 2008 closing ceremony, I knew right then and there that there's gonna be a British pop culture section at the 2012 opening ceremony. And there was! I didn't appreciate this section the first time but it kinda grew into me because there was so much freshness in it—an element previous opening ceremonies missed out on by focusing on "mass demonstrations"

The best part of this was the very short clip of Amy Winehouse.

xdroon20: No one with any worthwhile opinion regards the London Opening as a 'huge failure.' Then there is you: someone who just rants and insults people and is incapable of backing their opinion up.

I ved our opening ceremony. But this whole BBC-Music segment was far too disjointed and 'all over the place' It just looked too messy.

Its the only part of the opening ceremony I didn't like.
