Great review. I must say, exlusive CDTV titles....lets face it- they sucks.
CDTV was esposed in computer store near to my hause, so i watched it very often and wanted it badly (mostly cause of it badass look). Unfortunetly (or maybe fortunetly) it was way too expensive.

Town with no name has some very weird Facade vibes. I feel like if I mention Melons, I'm going to get thrown out of the internet or something.

Nice review, I mostly agree but the reason it failed is because software companies were greedy and not very talented 99% of the time. Defender of the Crown II is really the bare minimum for what is possible and this is probably the best CDTV game out there.

Imagine if we had Rocket Ranger or Wings on CD32, with much more graphics and animation by James Sachs from them. If you look at what Cinemaware did with PC Engine CD-ROM you get an idea.

Too expensive and programmers were greedy/no talent.

Geez! Watching you play these games makes me want to play CD-i instead. Thanks for the videos!
They are a way to learning German btw

@resistanceunion Yeah the cuts are hilarious and the loading times are very long. But back in those days it didn't bother me that much, because of the (advanced ;) graphics. (I'm not talking about the CDTV, because I didn't had it back than. I mean graphic adventures from those days generally.)

Thanks! Some people already told me, that my videos helped them learning the German Language. Which surprises me a little bit, but I think it is cool that my videos have this side effect. ;)

I haven't tried it. But I don't think that the CDTV would recognize the roms. If it would recognize them, than it might only load the first one. Because there is no menu on the disc. But I can be wrong.

Its so sad.. Commodore really screwed up in the early 90s. They did not understand the importance of a killer app.. a REALLY GOOD game or software exclusive for the system. It was the same thing with CD32.. alothou that one was a descent effort.

hahaha Town with no Name looks rediculous! Great review man. Never even knew about this system before today... no wonder Commodore went bankrupt...

Funny games those CDTV only titles. Competition disc? or did you mean Compilation disc? hehe.

there are plenty of compilations discs with up to 888 games on one CD for both CDTV and CD32.
