Teach the children to read and then the basics of lufe and then teach them respect towrds their peers. Most teachers are toeing th line for fear of losing their jobs.

When Kathleen Wynne's government got rid of Shakespeare in Ontario schools in favor of four indigenous authors, I looked them up to see samples of their work.
What I read was, at best, equivalent to a "What I Did on My Summer Vacation" essay composed by a mediocre grade 8 student.
To replace one of the greatest minds of the past 2000 years with four so-so talents is a sacrilege that shows just how far our society has fallen...and how stupid people have become.

Good grief, teachers are meant to teach facts like math, science, literacy and history. It is not the business of the state (i.e. teachers) to get involved in values or morality. Get the state the heck out of our kids morality.

Only parents give permission for children to take part in everything at school

we ensure the safety of children as top priority and yet each year, anywhere from 400, 000 to 700, 000 violent incident reports are sent in to school boards across the province....and this only from staff members since children do not have the platform to do this themselves. and we are not even talking about the profanities, the vandalism, etc etc etc. not even talking about how the moment a child identifies themselves in a certain manner, they instantly become targets of their peers, their families instantly enter into conflict with other, more traditional, families. so sir, where is all this 'the safety of the children' you speak

Bring back reading; writing and math. Never mind what they are storing in the libraries! It is up to the parents to teach their children about sexual practices…NOT THE EDUCATION SYSTEM! You are NOT transparent and should be! The policies are wrong and small children…as well as older ones…should be protected!

I retired early after twenty years of teaching. I couldn’t take another day, week, year of endless arguing and disagreement. SAD. If any government or school board plan works, I will eat my sock. Keep looking for that magic bullet: focussed, sustained, and concentrated effort.

Please make sure you get the ok by BOTH parents in writing. They have the final say.BOTH must sign. Or NOT OK. And respect their decisions if a child comes under FAMILY LAW period.

Measurable academic achievement through central/external assessment (what class teachers think should not be the only assessment) - that's the basics of school accountability!
