RPCS3 - VSH/XMB Now Booting on the Master Build!

After years of contributions from several developers, RPCS3 is now able to boot into the VirtualShell/Xross Media Bar (VSH/XMB) with any firmware version!

This video is a quick look through some of what is and isn't working in the XMB, including some settings you may want to adjust. While the XMB is mostly non-functional for now, there are developers working on fixing the missing audio, HDMI issues, and even the browser, so expect more progress in the future!

You can boot the XMB yourself by clicking on "File" and "Boot VSH/XMB" within RPCS3. For proper settings and more information, check out the wiki here:

One quick correction: the video mentions that the VSH/XMB works with all firmware versions. It has not been testing with all firmware versions, but people have had success going back as far as 2.80.

Also, if you try to switch themes and cannot log back into your profile, delete the "dev_flash2" folder from your RPCS3 folder to reset the XMB.

Was just messing around with this tonight for kicks, and have gotten 2.76 going with some fidgeting. Seems like progress continues to be made.

Very, very cool. The XMB is a huge part of the entire PS3 experience, and would be simply awesome to see its full implementation someday. Mounting discs, etc. etc.

Yay, the XMB works! I always wondered what it would be like to see how the PS3 XMB would work on RPCS3, and now the day has finally come!

One of my favorite things about Dolphin is the fact its nearly indistinguishable from a real wii. I load into the wii menu, can back into the wii menu at any point, and I can do things like load new games through it, just like a real wii. This is so nice to see, can't wait for it to be fully functional
