Comparing Hair Extensions: Cheap vs Expensive!
I'm trying two sets of halo hair extensions from Amazon. One set is under $10 and the other is under $90. Halo hair extensions are all about connivence, comfortability, and user friendly. So today, I'm putting them to the test on how easy each set is to put on, style and wear. In my opinion, halo hair extensions are not the most secure so they're perfect for a night out, lunch with your BFF or simply when you longer/thicker hair. Let's try these hair extensions and see what kind of similarities and differences they have.

The synthetic ones need to be styled with a clamp iron on the coolest setting possible and set with pin curl clips. Alternatively, you can also use steam or hot rollers.

The expensive ones were quite sparse. I was shocked that the cheaper ones actually looked better! I'd be quite annoyed if I spent that and they were that thin.

Suggestion # 1 - It would have been better to curl your hair to match up with the pre-curled $9 extensions, rather than trying to curl them with the curling iron.

#2 It would be really easy to just add a little headband or accessory to cover the attachment string.

#3 - For $9, those would be SUPER affordable and look totally fine for a special event or photos.

The $9 looks better! Color and volume wise, they blend better with your hair and look more natural.

I see why some say the $9 look better. I think because they are more full, but the expensive ones in my opinion looks good for her hair type and color

I have made my own halo extension by using hair weft from a hair supply. So easy and much cheaper plus you can control how much hair and use a better hair than synthetic.

For 80 dollars I will still consider cheap hair extensions, you should really do one of those high end ones, vs eBay quality ones

You can purchase wig clips at Sally Beauty and either sew them or glue them to the lace of the Halo to make them more secure. Also you can get thinning shears to clip out some of the hair on the cheaper halo.

Personally in my opinion once you learn how to care for synthetic fiber like it better because the curl stays in better. Also a tip when your curling synthetic hair when you release the curl you need to pin it until it cools once it cools let the curl drop then it will stay.

I think with the expensive one you'd need two to look more natural. It just didn't look that good. It was too thin, and the color, at least on my monitor, was not as close as you kept claiming it was. Very noticeable difference.
The cheap one looked good right off the bat. You didn't really need to do anything to it, even though you tried.

Great video ...I am a hairdresser...some helpful hints ...You are not supposed to use heat on synthetic hair...but they would have looked better if you had curled your hair ...or pinned your hair half up thus allowing you to pin the extension a little

I buy the goo goo tape in hair extensions. I can't fault them. Last as long as the ones that cost £££. Absolutely love your videos. Sending love from the U.K x

Synthetic, heat friendly, extensions need to cool down before you release the curl. Once the hair cools the curl will set. I actually prefer really good heat friendly synthetic to human hair, because once you style it it's permanent. It will stay in that style even through washing. You don't have to restyle them every time you wear them.

I LOVE my long hair. Just the way it falls and feels. I wore wigs and extensions till my hair grew out long.

Also, I was wondering if it felt more freeing to remove the synthetic hair extensions since they sometimes can be uncomfortable . I was curious since you said you felt free after taking them off.

Could you do the same comparison with hair toppers ? Those are best for thin/fine hair. And of course for those of us who don’t have as much hair as we used to.
