My mother lived in Turkey 50 years ago for about 3 years when she was in her early teens (her dad was US Air Force stationed there) and it’s still her favorite place she ever lived. I’d love to go there with her, but she’s a bit of a nervous nelly about travel nowadays and I’m not sure I could convince her to travel that far. It looks amazing!

Wow... I wanna go now. Had a quick lookup on Istanbul... and learned that Byzantium, New Rome, Constantinople, and Istanbul are all the same city that served as the capital of like 4 empires. I was also surprised to learn it is the most populous city in Europe. Can't wait to see more. Good stuff.
