What you said about Vecna attacking with his left hand while El attacks with her right reminded me that, in D&D lore, Vecna's original form was betrayed and killed by Kas, who was known as "Vecna's Right-Hand Man." But after every time he gets defeated, Vecna somehow, after a time, manages to come back stronger than ever. That's why, in the first episode, when Vecna appears in the D&D game, Mike protests, "But Vecna was killed by Kas!" Similarly, 001 tried to make El his Right Hand Man, and she basically was for a minute bc she helped him escape, before turning on him and apparently killing him, but actually only delaying his inevitable return to a greater-than-ever level of power.

nancy is the only one with a working bike light when she, robin, steve, and eddie are on their way to the trailer park gate. she gets cursed by vecna later, so the bike light was definitely foreshadowing

There was also a reference to Alice in Wonderland where Henry's sister, Alice first notices a dead rabbit.

did anyone notice that the school counselor wears a clock necklace around her neck? in the one scene where max goes to her house- also just how the victims of vecna were seeing the school counselor, makes me wonder if she’s somehow a spy for vecna like how will was for the mindflayer

The most notable feature to recognize a Black Widow spider is the "Hour Glass" shaped marking on it's abdomen. The Hour Glass essentially 'counts backwards' indicating 'how much time you have left. Just like the Grandfather Clock. I believe this fact was the reason the Black Widow was included in the series.

What about Stephen King's Carrie? A heavily bullied teenage girl (who happens to have telekinetic powers) sees red and becomes dangerous after being publicly humiliated whilst on a date with the guy she had a crush on. Eleven suffers from a lot of bullying this season, and her violent actions at the roller rink during her date with Mike, right after a milkshake is poured on her, must have been influenced by the famous prom scene.

When they go skating, you can see that the date is March 22nd, which happens to be Wills birthday (as you can see his mum saying to him “today is March 22nd, do you know what day that is? It’s your Birthday”) when the Mind Flayer is inside him.

So they all forgot Wills birthday!

Also when they go to rink o mania it’s actually wills bday! In season 2 Joyce tells Will “march 22 YOUR birthday, to will and when they were filming el with the milkshake on her the tape said “March 22” could explain why will felt really alone and also why he was a third wheel

When the Hellfire Club is playing in Eddie’s campaign, the first roll in order to kill Vecna landed on 11 and Eddie screams “that’s a miss” so I don’t think Eleven will be able to handle Vecna herself. Also, if they’re so alike, could Vecna be her polar opposite? Maybe Eleven feels like she’s a monster because she feels that part of her soul existing somewhere else in the Universe??

i feel like they really focused on the “rapid eye movement” thing this season, like when eleven was reliving her memories, when people were hallucinating, or when henry creel used his powers, and i thought it was really weird since they never focused that much on that in other seasons

I liked how they referenced Henry/One ‘s obsession with spiders by having Vecna look like one when he kills

I really liked the detail of Eleven's door being open 5 inches in the first episode when she's writing to Mike. That was one of Hopper's requests in his 'heart to heart' letter to El and Mike.

We all assume we know how much work goes into the show but this is beyond any expectations, they really thought about everything, this is impressive

Henry's resolve was cemented by meeting Eleven... In that he finally met someone powerful with no I'll intent, a genuinely good person inside... It's why he seemed legitimately shocked when she accused him of tricking her... He had been locked up, and more or less tortured into submission for 20 years at that point... In a way, he finally met someone who gave him hope, even if it's a twisted version of hope, and then completed his downfall by rejecting him into the upside-down... I love it when a villain actually has a compelling argument... Makes them 100x more terrifying...

Also Vecna’s first kill was similar to Freddy first kill where he levitates the body above the bed and then kills her in front of another teen but you can’t see who is killing the teen.

I worked on this season as the sound FX editor. The beginning of Ep 403 when the house wife is washing up in the kitchen and something arrives outside, shaking the whole house is a nod to Close Encounters. The idea was to not reveal what it is until we cut to the exterior shot when we finally see that it's just a helicopter

The actress playing Max can totally play Jesse if they ever do a live action Woody film (toy story)
