Honestly, i actually kinda like how genshin slowly paired an element with one specific scaling; geo with def, hydro with hp, pyro with atk, anemo with em, cryo with crit rate, and electro with er. This could avoid a character with crisis identity (i.e xinyan) and if those scaling can be increased by its own elemental resonance, it can make each of the elemental resonance evenly useful

the only character i can think that scales like her is Yun Jin with defense, i like this new trend in characters it makes it easier to build them and farming artifacts less boring

Characters that scale differently are nice, but I think we need fresh playstyles instead of new characters that mirror that functionality of old ones.

If they would make a Claymore DPS Character that purely scales off of HP, The Bell would be ridiculously good on that character. Also hoping for an EM-Scaling Hydro Claymore Sub-DPS/Main DPS Character for Rainslasher as well.

Edit: What I meant here is more on raw/independent damage not by relying on reactions or buffs from other characters

The addition of Yelan would make everyone think twice about trashing some artifacts now since we will never know if the next character would be similar to Yelan when it comes to scaling to a specific stat.

This is the EXACT reason why I pulled for her.

My initial plan was to stay strong for Kazuha but I put him on hold and dumped all my saved freemos when I saw that everything important on her kit scaled off HP. Not only that but her skill is so fun to use that feels completely different from anything else.

She is definitely a splash in the right direction.

She's a universal character, dps, subdps, support and increases characters damage while her ult is active.

With the new 5 starts being revamped 4 stars I would love to see them make a revamped version of Xiangling. Xiangling had been the only pyro of field DPS in the game since the beta, and the fact that she is the only unit that can be used for off field pyro DPS with no other contenders besides Thoma (Thoma having lackluster application and no damage) would be a big relief to get someone else we can use. Would love it if they made the new of field pyro unit less Bennet reliant aswell. Big copium if this ever gets made. 🤞

I think a lot of people don't understand this. Being called a 5* Xingqiu is a compliment not an insult. He's literally the only good Hydro support + enabler for Pyro dps, even in Freeze/Tazer teams and getting an upgraded version of that is always a good thing.

She's a really great character. Totally worth pulling for if you don't have a dps or many hyrdo characters. I'm only skipping her because she's new so she'll likely come back sooner than other reruns and I think I've reached a point in my account where I don't feel the need to pull for every character. I'm dedicated to trying get Kazuha constellations every rerun now.

I just love how her basic concept is a great flick off to Xingqiu and Bennet meta at the same time. She alleviates some of the demand for XQ while also being pure HP scaling means she doesn't want Bennett. All while having a fun kit and character on top of all her meta shenanigans. And she really is the easiest character to build since I had plenty of HP based stuff I was able to scrap around to give her. The only thing I need to worry about is if my 4 star pieces get 5 star replacements eventually.

You make an EXCELLENT POINT! this would AT LEAST help burnt out players with the annoying artifact farming, AND make us think twice before burning 5 star artifacts, making them more valuable!

Looking at the new weapons: Redhorn and Aqua Simulacra (low base atk with HUGE crit dmg stats) I can also infer that Yelan isn't the last character that won't scale with atk and will use other stats.

This is why I wanted Yelan from beginning after lore and futureproof character.
Also, relating to Dendro reaction seems good enough to futureproof my characters for later patch :D

I like Yelan shaped up the meta finally it's interesting to talk about and actually exciting Yae has severe gameplay weakness compared to Fischl while offering basically nothing no decent particles or anything. Yelan just ends up doing more damage while also buffing the character while having a CC Skill with more AOE focus with barbed shot and stuff like that. Probably one of the best designs we have seen so far

Three 4-stars have held the monopoly on "staple" and I think Yelan is huge for this reason. Her damage is higher but similar than Xingqui's, while scaling off of HP. This means she's competitive to replace him in certain teams, while also not relying on Bennet.

I think Yelan's success opens up posibillities for future characters scaling entirely off of different stats, not depending on the staples and forming new metas.
