Lenovo Tab M11 Review: Great Bargain, But One Thing Bothers Me

In our latest video, we dive deep into the Lenovo Tab M11, a tablet that immediately impresses with its unbeatable price-performance ratio. For a mere 199 Euros, it offers an appealing 11-inch display, decent performance, and even an active stylus. After six weeks of rigorous testing, we're mostly impressed, though one aspect leaves a bit to be desired. Nonetheless, Lenovo has shown remarkable improvement in another area.

We compared the M11 against its direct competitors, including the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+, Lenovo Tab P11 Gen 2, and the Amazon Fire HD 10 2023. The M11 stands out in design and build quality, with a fully aluminum body that feels noticeably premium. The transition from display to body, slightly marred by plastic, is a minor flaw, typical for this price range.

The rear camera delivers surprisingly good photos and videos in adequate lighting. The webcam and facial recognition unlocking are commendable features, though they fall short of the security a fingerprint reader offers. The inclusion of the active stylus, Lenovo Tab Pen, makes the deal even sweeter, despite its precision not matching up to more expensive alternatives.

The display is solid but could be brighter for outdoor use. Intriguingly, although not advertised, the display supports up to 90Hz, a feature not user-configurable but on par with some competitors.

Powered by a MediaTek Helio G88 processor, coupled with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, the M11's specs are impressive for its price. Its performance is satisfactory, but don't expect the fluidity of high-end tablets or smartphones in heavy multitasking or demanding apps.

Software support from Lenovo has improved, with promises of updates up to Android 15 and security updates until January 2028. The software, including PC-Mode and Lenovo Freestyle for transferring files and using the tablet as a secondary monitor, adds practicality despite the slight lag in wireless display connection.

The battery life stands at 7.5 hours under continuous video playback at maximum brightness, which is average. While the Amazon Fire HD 10 2023 lasts longer, the M11's battery performance is comparable to that of the A9+.

I have a Lenovo P11+. Physically, it's a good tablet. However, software wise, it's not good. Bugs in the settings menu, only one update, buggy with Google Notes, janky with Twitter. I have none of these issues with my Samsung products. My next tablet will be a Samsung - i prefer the stability.

There's also a Chinese version called Xiaoxin Pad 2024, which I own. It literally looks the same. Just the specs are a bit different as the Xiaoxin Pad comes with Snapdragon 685. Quite a good tablet for the price... Esp with built-in PC Mode.

There is a version of Tab M11 sold exclusively in China. It comes with Snapdragon 685. I am using it right now with 8GB Ram and 128GB storage. Performance is much better as compared to the international version.

Is there any difference between Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Plus 2023 and Lenovo Tab P11 2023? Or is it the same tablet with different names for different markets? These tablets are sold in a local shop in my country as two different tablets, but the technical specs are absolutely identical.

This review makes the processor sound surprisingly capable. Efficient performance for everyday use is exactly what I'm looking for in a tablet

Intrigued by the Lenovo pen support... might be a great digital sketchbook! I think the performance based mediatek chip can be a great one for the gaming also...
