The American auto industry is on the verge of a financial disaster. With new tariffs of up to 100% looming on vehicles and parts from Mexico and Canada, Ford and GM are scrambling to avoid billions in losses, skyrocketing car prices, and potential factory shutdowns. Ford CEO Jim Farley calls it "chaos", warning that these tariffs could cripple the industry, while GM’s Mary Barra is rushing to stockpile vehicles before the new policies take effect. With supply chains disrupted, costs soaring, and foreign automakers like Toyota and Hyundai gaining a massive advantage, this could be the biggest shake-up in automotive history. Can Ford and GM survive this crisis? Will American car prices skyrocket? Could this open the door for Chinese EV makers to dominate the U.S. market? Watch now to uncover the full impact of this game-changing economic shift. Subscribe to stay ahead of the biggest stories shaping the auto industry.

No, Trump will never resign till the public throws him out, or the Military drag him out.

Japanese cars are about to become very popular in Canada. No Canadian worth his salt will buy an American car now.

The golden age of America. This is just a start. Can you imagine in the middle of trump’s term we all be looking for jobs in Mexico picking berries for minimum wage

If auto manufacturing moves exclusively back to the USA, don't expect to sell any vehicles outside the USA. Foreign manufacturers will fill that void and take the profits. Goodbye American auto makers. Goodbye jobs in the USA. An utterly brilliant strategy.

Seems moving business to Canada or Mexico entirely might be a sound choice. Avoiding American business in totality

A new truck was already $100k, and no one bought them then. Recalls on every product you sell while charging more than my house? You're fucked

Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky you all voted for these tariffs and now you are crying the blues. You didn't care what happen to everyone else and I don't care what happens to the " Big Three". I just bought a German made car car because I rather see my money go to Germany than I would support any of these red states.

This is why the president should never have the authority to impose tariffs. Before 1934 only Congress had this authority.

I am a professional procurement analyst and have dealt with multiple tariff types, enacted by multiple nations throughout the world for almost four decades. I like to think of tariffs as a tool like sugar. The use of sugar is a valuable tool when used in the right proportions to sweeten and take the edge off of foods that my seem to be too bitter, or sour. Sugar can add a vast improvement to other wise distasteful food products. Tariffs are a valuable tool to provide protection to very selected industries that may be extremely vulnerable to foreign competition and can be especially useful during the process of grown a brand new industry within a country, to be used on a temporary basis only, until that particular industry can produce profit and stand on its' own feet.
Sugar can be a very harmful product and should never be added in large quantities to all food products across the board. Sugar should never be applied in too large of quantity, as it will in almost all cases degrade and damage the desired taste of the original food product. And...of course reliance in a diet consisting of 100% sugar will quite quickly kill you. Trump seems to have some misguided belief that America will benefit and flourish on a diet solely reliant upon sugar.

It's a lesson in what happens when the Head of State of a country cannot be trusted to stand by international agreements.

The biggest problem with US made cars is the same as when we made Ford and GM here in Australia and it’s called quality or more specifically the lack of it. Japanese and European cars blitz the market with quality and design and that dear Donald is why you don’t sell cars in Europe.
