Full video of Dr. Buddy Clark and Master Hitting Instructor Dan Koosed's presentation "How Technology Unlocked My True Potential At The Plate" at the 2017 American Baseball Coaches Association Convention.

During the presentation, Dr. Clark and Mr. Koosed discuss the importance of how the right combination of exit velocity and approach angle can maximize your potential output.

Moreover, the duo discusses how technology - including Diamond Kinetics' SwingTracker and inMotion Systems' HitTrax - can help measure and quantify these metrics for players and coaches.

Finally, they look at individual case studies of youth, high school, college and professional players and show scientific evidence of how the players numbers improved with the appropriate mindset and swing cues.

At 25:30 with the bat angle at 10°, more pitches will be put into play with less strike outs/swinging misses. At 26:20, a bat angle of 30° will result in far, far more weak contact (pop ups, weak ground balls)/swing and misses at the high fastballs, i.e. the contemporary elevate and celebrate approach. However, on the low pitches, it is easy to achieve success with the higher launch angle (as you want) by getting the bat head further out in front of the pitch.

I feel like 40/45 degrees is a little high. Obviously the numbers are calculated, but I feel like HR's in the MLB are 25-35. Is that bc they lose bat speed when they're trying swing at a higher angle?
