Guest host Steve Shives discusses JD Vance's gaffe about the price of eggs in Pennsylvania, where he inadvertently demonstrates that he and Donald Trump understand basic economics well enough to know their proposed tariffs would actually raise prices for consumers, despite Trump and Vance's repeated insistence to the contrary.

The real reason why the price of groceries has gone up is due to corporate price gouging. Inflation was just a cover.

He failed to mention the bird flu that wiped out chickens in 2022 and 2023. You think having less chickens might have a slight impact on egg prices?

14 eggs every morning? Get CPS involved.

Grocery prices are high because of corporate greed, not because of the price of energy.

It's not the current administration's fault, it's the billionaires price gouging us into oblivion.💙

Cost of groceries have Nothing to do with Inflationary Policies and more to do with Retail Price Gouging.

Question. Why do they keep saying its Harris' policies when she's NOT the president? When did HER policies kick in?

Hmm. I remember eggs being over $8 a dozen in 2020. Oh yeah and a million people dying from trumps incompetence as a leader. EFF JD Vance!

I like the question to ask to Republicans: "Do you believe Trump is stupid? Or else do you believe that Trump believes you are stupid?" because regarding tariffs one of the two has to be correct.

I love when they squeal about "Kamala Harris' policies when she is VICE President, and so, practically powerless!

This only proves that JD has never bought a dozen eggs in his life

JD Vance being a runner for the VP is actually a gift to all of us wanting to see Trump fail in his attempt to become President again!!!!

No one should be surprised at this. He admits outright that he makes shit up, just the kind of guy America needs on the line to the presidency.

He's running for VP, yet he clearly doesn't understand the role of a VP!

My question to him would be so what will your Administration do to break up the monopolies that are gouging the American public

I put the blame for higher grocery prices squarely on the shoulders of the corporations that are price gouging. Sadly, includes the one that owns the supermarket where I shop.

It's amazing how some people even when they have their own children don't know how to interact with children. 🤨

Another thing to mention in regards to the "drill baby drill" catchphrase they like to use: not only did the US actually export more oil than we imported, which means we produced more than enough oil to cover our own needs domestically.. but what people don't understand is the oil we produce here is not the same as the stuff we import. We currenly use what's known as "sour crude" for about 76% of our oil consumption. The oil we pump in America is called "sweet crude", which is technically easier to process but cannot be processed with the same facilities as the sour crude. Which is the type of facilities we use most. (76% of them). The reason we do it this way, is because the sweet crude we pump is worth more per barrel than the sour crude we buy from contries like Iraq and Saudia Arabia. This means if we produce and export more than we import we meet our fuel needs while pocketing a hefty profit.

The main point:
DRILLING MORE OIL WILL NOT LOWER GAS PRICES.
If you are curios why, just look up what OPEC
