I've gotten a few recurring questions so have a small FAQ:

Q: What is a MAD?
A: MAD is short for Music Anime Douga (Video) in Japanese and is a pretty loose term. Anywhere from edited video clips (AMVs), edited picture videos like this one, or completely original videos. Usually related to anime, but not always. I use it interchangeably with PV (picture video).

Q: Audio download link?
A: No, sorry. It's literally just the original song spliced with mes' cover. It was done with minimal effort and I don't feel comfortable putting up a download without their permission.

[NEW] Q: Can I take the video and put translated lyrics on it?
A: No, there’s been enough reuploads without my permission as it is, be it for translations or just the sake of stealing it. HOWEVER, I’ve looked into community-contributed subtitles and have turned those on. If you want to translate this song, please do it that way.

Q: Can I use this video in my own?
A: Thinking this over again, I would prefer you use the mes' original PV by ajimita and Michikora OR Crusher-P's original PV. This was made on a whim as (kind of) a parody, without explicit permission, so I'd prefer to keep it here as something I did solely for fun.

Hello again, Youtube!! It's been 2 years since my last upload and I'm sorry 'bout that! I'm out of my swing, but I whipped this paro together for the summer.

It's been a little over two years since I created this thing for fun and, boy, has it blown up since! Thank you all SO MUCH for 3+ MILLION VIEWS!! I'm still in shock at how big this video grew to be and all of the wonderful comments I still receive. ♥

I turned on CC subtitles a while ago (and actually forgot lmao) so I was pleasantly surprised to see a bunch of translations both in review and published! I've been looking for the version of Echo that had Mes’s added vocal segment for *ages*
I knew it existed because I would think about this version constantly
I almost sobbed when I came across this video because I had finally found it, that gorgeous audio I've been dying for
I adore this version of the song, because I love the added audio, but I like the robot voice throughout the rest of the song because I feel it fits better with the theme of not feeling like other people? Ya know?

so the most intense parts of the song are when dipper is asleep because he's fighting bill in his sleep, and the arms represent his balance in the dreamscape and in the real world, and when bill takes over they dissipate because dippers gone.
