I remember putting that Dark magician in my pocket once as a kid and forgetting about it till after laundry day

That Dark Magician in the washer story hit home so hard. My original SDY Dark Magician got run over by the lawn mower. I'm dead serious. A friend and I were kind of "role-playing" with my cards outside pretending to be in the anime show and somehow it got left on the deck outside and the wind blew it onto the lawn. My dad later brought me a piece of the corner asking if it was mine. Still upset over that to this day. It sucks how young and clueless we all were back then and didn't take great care of our cards. I didn't even know sleeves existed until like 3-4 years after I started collecting.

As a kid, I bought this tin from Walmart because I thought this was Arkana's Red Dark Magician. Still have the tin and the card till this day, oh the nostalgia...

I remember opening that same tin and getting a ghost rare honest when it came out. I opened another one not too long after and it also had a secret honest. After seeing this I feel like the ratios must've been really weird for Light of Destruction packs from tins but maybe its just a coincidence.

I was 20 in 2003...you make me feel old. I wish I had a better grasp on Yu-Gi-Oh back then, I could have bought so many of these retro/old school packs. Never pulled a ghost rare though, I still look for them.
