Nobody will stop him making a TV show about whatever he wants. Why use Dr Who? Same reason you use Star Wars, because you need the franchise to sneak it into peoples homes because you know nobody is interested. Shows a complete lack of confidence when it comes to the message he wants to push. Make a new show for the audience you think exists, you tell us you are the majority, how can whatever you make possibly fail?

Moffat did Doctor Who Fandom a solid favor by writing Peter Capaldi's final show as The Doctor not wanting to regenerate and wanting to die peacefully. THAT is where The Doctor's story ended. The 12th Doctor died, the TARDIS traveled to Trenzalore and became his tomb as shown in Name of The Doctor.
