Today Grace Slick socials asked .. what was your favorite fashion style she ever had .. My answer was all of the outfits she wore in the "St Charles" video promoting the album Spitfire from 1976.. She looks amazing in the black body suit, the white satin gown and the outfit she is not wearing in the water scenes...
This is my favorite song from Jefferson Starship and I will take this over Airplane era any time.. This band was on fire in 76.. Marty Balin, Grace, and Paul Kantner doing their "Volunteers" style vocal interplay. Craig Chaquico playing monster lead..(the "Storm" part gives me intense chills.. I hope Scorpions sent him some money for the Rock You Like a Hurricane riff they stole) Keys and Bass dynamos Pete Sears and David Freiberg switching off .(check out Freibergs neck mounted microphone.. hope madonna sent him money... ) and the INCREDIBLE Johny Barbata on drums who was in the Turtles and CSNY doing the coolest ride cymbal shit ever.
This video is one of my favorite videos of all time.. I remastered it just now adding CD audio for the first time.. Sit back and lose your self in the magical world of Jefferson Starship for 6 and a half minutes..

My very favourite Jefferson Starship tune, and I agree it beats anything they did as Airplane. I wish this one got more airplay. So many people have no idea what they are missing.

I still remember this show at the Spectrum in Philly with Grace taking Polaroids of the audience and throwing it out to them and I believe Papa John was part of the ensemble as well. It's a different time and place now, but those times; oh so cherished still.

This is one of those songs I can listen to on rare occasion because it hits me with such intense passion I don't want to spoil it. Tonights victory for Donald J. Trump, POTUS 47, and for all those who have fought for him so valiantly through the years, and for every citizen of the United States and beyond, is one of those special occasions. Happy for the HOPE we all now have.
