DJ Tech Tools - Ableton Contest - by Rick Fresco

My (WINNER) entry for DJTT's Ableton contest...

I just used the Novation Launchpad in "user 1" mode to control Ableton Live running Mad Zach's drumrack. I stretched or piched some of the original samples so they could match the track's key, that's it... no other samples, no other fx... and as you can see everything is played live!

Years come and go, but I keep getting back to one of the best if not the best maestro of the Launchpad instrument. There are so many play-back posers, and so many RGB light shows on youtube... But so few musical gems like this one. Also I LOVE your overall flow, the way you DON'T keep the tempo. You know what you are doing, there is nothing accidental here.

hey and thanks for this amazing tutorial about music producing, but i never used Ableton ...now i'm using only BTV and my beatz are uploaded directly on my youtube channel...have you tried it? ...i want to know which is better ABleton or BTV? ...on the other hand the complete betamaking studio cost me only $7 and my laptop

at 1:40 how is the rigging done for the top left button? is that a loop that volume gets turned on an off? because each time it sounds differently.
