Foolish to assume their intention was to replace the people they let go in the first place like you imply towards the end. That’s the allure of the tracking & data driven solutions you reference in the beginning, which now enable organizations to definitively measure the value of human capital in ways never before, with rapid innovation faster than the average complacent workforce can even recognize is underway. before they know it they get an invite at 4:45p on a Thurs, to attend a zoom session the following Fri AM, to learn their employment is terminated & maybe they’ll even get a couple weeks pay as severance. Come Monday, regenerative AI, automation, & the remaining, slightly more valuable human capital on the payroll will absorb the workloads that transformation hasn’t solved for, yet. New departments & necessary transformation will move into vacant cubicles & conference rooms, and a small window of opportunity will open for new roles that better align with present direction of the organization. By middle of that week the board room will go back to regular full day sessions where the next round of employees & HR objectives go on the chopping block… geez I wonder what that will entail 🤔. Here’s a hint: Don’t Even Inquire. Just update your resume, and may the force be ever in your favor. ✌️
