Some homeless don’t want to use the available assistance. Too many rules. Addiction to Alcohol and drugs is a big part of problem.

Gotta do it periodically because they won’t and it will just get worse and worse.

Great Job!! Its hard to have sympathy for these homeless people when they just trash everywhere they set up!
Thank you City workers - doing the job no one can or wants to do!!

The homeless lady has to understand that we want to use the beach too and we can't when they are there, they like to steal you stuff when you not looking. I don't have anything against the homeless but they have to go into the shelter in Waianae right next to the city hall, not crowed the beaches and make the beaches all pilau.

The homeless have so much resources that offer help… my ohana and I used to live in a shelter on the west side… we took advantage of all the programs that were offered… the homeless needs to want help, if not the homeless problem won’t go away forever….

Taking their belongings is wrong but if it’s unusable trash, then the clean up is warranted

Omalley-Vierra acknowledged that the city crews are there just to clean up her/their trash, ( 0:21 )and she will go right back to doing the same thing once the crews are gone. If she and her fellow house-less friends took better care of the Aina then she wouldn't need to go through this every few months. Listen to her speak, she has such a sense of entitlement, it's like she thinks she owns that property.

Number one problem with the homeless is that they trash the area in which they reside, so this is a good for the community. Things that are confiscated are huge things that these people keep compiling, like furniture, etc.. These 1:36 people are living free off the aina, they don’t pay taxes or rent, and majority of them are so Kapulu. She said that after they leave, they just move back to the area, well maybe they need to start giving them tickets or something and arrest these repeat offenders. The problem with them is they don’t want rules, so they don’t go to the homeless shelters, smh

You have the right to make opala and take over a beach that belongs to all?

Claim to love the islands while trashing it. Not just the terra but the ocean too.
We visit, or I should say my wife and daughter visit family once or twice a year. I stopped going about five years ago because of the trash dump the islands have become. Last time I was there they city spent three or four days clearing out a homeless camp. Had to cut out all kinds of vegetation to get to it. The islands haven’t been nice for a very very long time. Sad.

Not only do these grown children live rent free, they also have parents who come around and clean their rooms.

A waste of time and money. They'll be right back. The public cannot use the parks and bathrooms because of the encampment. Waikiki has rules of no sitting, or sleeping on beach certain hours. This problem has been around for decades. When will government clear our beaches and parks?

How about Kapiolani boulevard where its dangerous for people to walk on the road when the sidewalk is blocked by the homeless. Also, how about Harding and Kapahulu, they mess it up all the time

I was born in Waianae in 53, as long as I remember the poor were pushed out to Waianae. Elementary school classes were overcrowded, there were homelessness scattered from Nanakuli to Makua. Sorry I feel for them. The rich in Honolulu get richer and the poor in Waianae gets poorer. There is a Waianae history book published in 73. it talks about this problems back then.

The homeless have an encampment right across sams club in pearl highlands. They are dumping all their trash in to the Stream, you can see it each time you pass over the overpass. Something needs to be done. You would at least think these people could clean up after themselves, its freaking disgusting.

Like how they were storing people's property in a dump truck.
