What I find interesting is that those Coopers (Reactors) are the size of what we all wore back then, but it looks so absolutely foreign and small now. Looking at the older stuff, they look even more outlandishly tiny. Still, I stand by the look and feel of the older gear. The modern stuff just looks like you're wearing two big blockers on your legs.

Loved this video! It was really cool seeing you both just hanging out. Love this video, I've watched probably 10 times now. It's just great to see that style that's just kind of lost now. I break it out in pick up games for the fun of it and honestly to give the younger guys and my son a show. Is modern butterfly more efficient? Absolutely. Does a sliding upright wall beat the look of a splits glove save? Absolutely not.

Remember my high school goaltender equipment it was Victoriaville same as Kelly hrudey I created my goaltenders mask myself from Play It Again Sports featuring the Cooper helmet in a cage I created that kind of look like Tommy's soderstrom I wasn't much to look at

As a goalie who started mid 90’s with Copper Reactor (series 1).. I can attest.. heavy! not easy to move in (Roller Hockey)! But that’s why you played the Hasek style! Loved it! 🤟😂❤️

What chest protector were you using? As a 70’s goalie we didn’t want to take it in the chest, it was not exactly protection. I find now I play butterfly Hasek style. Hard to let go of the old habits.
