This webinar hosted by New York Sea Grant featured guest speakers Allison Deperte and Ellie Sywak of AMSEAS, who cover the topic of sea turtles found in Long Island's waters and how people can help keep an eye out for them on beaches as the weather gets colder and turtles suffer from cold stunning (hypothermia).
This webinar took place via Zoom on November 14, 2023 as part Community Science LI (CSLI). CSLI is an annual educational webinar series that highlights various community science opportunities around Long Island, and the importance of those projects in supporting local wildlife conservation efforts. Webinars coincide with the survey season for each monitoring program. CSLI is hosted by New York Sea Grant, the Long Island Sound Study, the Seatuck Environmental Association, the Peconic Estuary Partnership, and the south Shore Estuary Reserve.
