I'm convinced that was more Bradley than Arthur and the director didn't mind and it survived the cut.
Idk but during the five seasons and despite the script trying to maintain the notion of Arthur as a royal prat who slowly makes progress to become a just and lovable king thanks to Merlin's moderating influence; Bradley strikes me as the one who constantly inserts so many small additions ([lovely] stares, touches etc) to assure us viewers his Arthur truly adores and loves Merlin. or maybe I'm completely wrong and Bradley just adores Colin and can't stop himself from enjoying his time with his gorgeous and talented colleague. I know I wouldn't be able to stop myself...^^
