The Helldivers 2 devs have a prevailing ideology that the game should always be a struggle, and as soon as the community figures out successful ways of doing things, the devs change those things.
Making a game more frustrating doesn't make it more engaging. It's the laziest possible way to try and make the game interesting.

Alright, so, it was a bug
The patrol were intended to be linear with the number of players, so one person would face 1/4 of patrols of a full squad

A bug tho made it possible to face up to 1/5, 1/6 of the intended bot count, making the map feels empty sometimes
This one was debunked and clarifies by the devs via discord❤

It’s a team game, designed for multiple players. They do not have to make it easier just because 2% want to play solo

yall missed something here. 1/6 at solo is 4/6 at at 4 players now it's 1/4 and 4/4. I saw a map today with 3 bile titans and 8 chargers... AT THE SAME TIME. not even a helldive. from only 2 patrols.

The patch is faulty, if you can't get the game to start, check licences and reregistration them again.
