Hello everybody and welcome to the first official Pop Dissected Podcast. If you are here you’re a Channel Member, and I want to say thank you so much for joining, I greatly appreciate it.

For our first topic we’re going to be talking about award shows and if they’re in decline and why. When discussing award shows, I’ll be talking about three I believe are the most primary and talked about.

The Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards and the Grammys.

And, I’ll be focusing on the past decade of these shows, just to keep our conversation more streamlined, but not to fret, other decades of these shows will be discussed in future podcasts.

this is tea, I think lack of diversity among those nominated is a huge factor in this, (I say this particularly with the Grammys in mind.) They need a major update in the nomination process if they have any chance of continuing going forward.

I think Award Shows could be better if they have better producers and have a better way of utilizing social media when the live show happens (make it more interactive). It's difficult because everything is conventional and microwavable. Things burn out easily. Also, it really is just about popularity/numbers games. If people actually opened the door for new creatives/artists it would make things more refreshing. Its like a battle with keeping up with the times and holding archaic standards for the music industry.

the vma have been declining since 2013 just every award show. The vma is the most disappointed one out of these awards shows because your here to MAKE HISTORY the new artists are giving mediocre performances.

They have become way to political like I don’t care what celebrities think about politics or who’s president I just want to see them perform
