"Black Roses" was a single produced for the 'Nashville' television series’ third season. Performed by Clare Bowen’s character Scarlett O'Connor, 'Black Roses' was written by Lucy Schwartz, and was the first song written specifically for the television show.

Peaking at #29 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, Black Roses became one the most-popular songs from Nashville’s second season, which lead to Clare Bowen performing it on two separate episodes:
*episode 2x13: “It’s All Wrong, but it’s All Right”
which aired on January 29th, 2014
*episode 2x19: “Crazy”
which aired on April 2nd, 2014

With the audio also being played on episode 2x15 "They Don’t Make 'Em Like My Daddy Anymore", which aired on February 26th, 2014.

On top of being released as a single, Black Roses was also released on the album 'The Music of Nashville: Season 2, Volume 2', which also charted, peaking at #13 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart, at #4 on the Billboard Country Albums chart, and at #2 on the Billboard Soundtracks chart.
