Hubsan H502s Quality Control Issues

To many people are complaining that there Hubsan H502s and some H501s drones have to many issues with distance and altitude. I strongly believe that this is because Hubsan is producing drones without checking there stock randomly. Quality control means someone is making sure there product is working the way its supposed to be. Hubsan seems to put out a random number of good working drones and the rest well you know we sometimes get the crap of the bunch. Unfortunately I got one of the bad ones. I still like Hubsan products, I'm just weary of what I buy from them. The odds of you getting a bad apple are about 60 good and 40 bad.

I really like the micro safety of the machine. I was able to fly my 502e over 3000 feet and never was able to break TX connection. I was flying it using telemetry because it would disapere Los. Thought the motor went but the board was the issue only got about 40 flights and toast. So with all the qc issues I'm not going to replace it. The donut effect. hardly any radio will transmit straight over head. Never do that always fly off to the side and then up.

Great video. I've had my 502s a week now. great little bird! I ordered mines from Hubsan and have no range issues.
Did antenna upgrade and range and video quality is amazing!

I got a good one and it came with a sunvisor and in the battery bay there is a JST connector and no battery divider..so you can now use for instance, the tarantula 7.4 1200MAH battery and it fits right in, other problems have also been fixed. I think this drone is the best on the market for the money and I am sure it had to do with Shally Liu at Hubsan service as she has become the game changer for Hubsan's great new improved products!!

How do I get the h502s camera model to work inside my h502e useing E remote as well, I can get a video only when I plug in the quad with h502e remote off, when I try to turn on remote to bind and calibrate the signal cuts off, do I need the h502s remote or do I need to update firmware?

What's the big deal? You have a toy quad with a lot of features. The distance issue is minor on this quad. You can only see so far. 60 meters is a long ways out there if you can even see it. FAA requires line of sight anyway. For the price this is an excellent quad. It's affordable for most starting out with GPS features. Don't be so envious of what others say of their quad.

You may have a problem as 250 meters is no problem. Take the back off of your radio and check that the both connectors are snapped on all the way for your antennas or are not loose and if you change antennas it is a very simple thing to do as no soldering is needed. I am also curious if your using a lipo in the battery bay or AA batteries, as I use the 1200 MAH 7.4 volt from a tarantula and have not tried AA Batteries.

I have several friend that work for a local commercial drone company and they have told me the FAA is trying to cut down the range of drones via Firmware due to complaints. That is why Hubsan went and added the firmware updates to remove them. If you search You Tube there is at least 1 video listing the affected versions of the H501S controller firmware where the rang has been cut down. Be advised that 2.4 GHZ that is used for control of drones and 5.8 GHZ that is used for video is also used for WIFI 802.11N routers and if you fly in an area that has a lot of WIFI signals it can effect the range also. We found this out using a H501S in the neighborhood, we have half a dozen networks with strong signals according to my computer and found that when we took the drone away from the stronger WIFI signals it would work better. Had more range on both the control and the video.

Wow I've had this for about 2 weeks and tbh I've taken it around 200 meters horizontally and 130 meters up with no issues at all. I've found it to be one of the best drones for its price.. I own 3 hubsan products and they're much better than syma and the other toy grade copies out there. You got a bad egg in my opinion but hubsan are still way ahead of their competition..

I just bought one and it works ok but there is so much static in the LCD Screen that it's hard to see anything clearly

I got a Bad one. no more Hubsans for me! It was a toy beginner model anyway. But at over $100 not worth trying anymore. Motors don't last long and over 16 screws to replace one. Maybe this ain't my hobby! Motor replacements are cheap ...I found out why Lots of new motors have issues right out of the package. Two went bad over a week!

I'm getting much further distances I can go the maximum altitude limit of 130 meters and I can get mine out 500 M horizontal distance alternate your frequencies you can range plenty of them in the menu

R.F. remote control depends highly on the environment, interference will cause reduced range as well as surroundings...what works great one minute can be total crap the next especially in the congested 2.4 and 5.8 Ghz bands...

Drone distance capabilities are very relative to how many radio signals are around you, you are in a city, sounds like you are near an airport, bet your skies are crawlin with radio signals, take it to an unpopulated area in the country, and get back to us!
