WRC 10 | Sound Recording Dev Diary

Essential for total immersion, the WRC 10 team paid particular attention to the rendering of engine sounds, recording real racing models and integrating them into the game.

A complex and precise process, the recordings allow to capture sounds from different sources and perspectives, in order to retransmit the sound effects as close as possible to the players' behaviors and actions.

Once recorded, the different sources are processed, mixed and integrated into the game on each vehicle.

Finally, for the final mix, environmental sounds such as public areas, different road surfaces or the impact of the weather are added for a more realistic simulation than ever!

#WRC10 will be available September 2, 2021 on PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, and on Nintendo Switch at a later date.

Ive got the new WRC 10, but the engine sounds doesnt sound like these hear in the video...The engine sounds got better compared to WRC 9, but there is many room to above!! And ive noticed that EVERY WRC car has the exact same engine sound, then every WRC 2/3 car also has the exact same engine sound In full you get maybe around 5-6 different engiine sounds with ALL the cars in

how it comes that WRC 10 sounds like WRC 8 ? WRC 9 was a bit better but WRC 10 is like Richard Burns Rally. In game I don't hear nothing realistically. There is something totally wrong with the sounds in WRC

I’ve preordered the game, cant wait to try it! Please put stages from WRC 8 and 9 in next updates and you could also add the new hybrid WRC cars (Ford Puma, Hyundai i20, Toyota Yaris) in the next update as well as some older cars (Renault 5, MG Metro group B, Ford Escort Cosworth, Peugeot 206, Lancer evo 9 and 10, 2006 Impreza...)

Dirt rally 2.0 engine sound still better... I heard Lancia Delta, 037 and other cars in wrc 10 and they sound so bad... Nothing compared to Dirt... This is a big problem because engine sound is very important to me in a race game

I'm playing it at the moment and it sounds much better than wrc9, especially at partial throttle, last year there wasn't as much nuance and pops and etc. Great work!

They recorded real cars, seriously ?! There's a big problem between the chair and the desktop of the sound designer.
Even modders who make sounds for Assetto Corsa with youtube videos as basis make more convincive job.

ingame sounds from this peek still sound flat and uninspired. as if all the treble and bass was toned down way too much. maybe invest into a new pair of speakers for your audio engineer. Also no gravel or suspension sounds
but its great to see improvements in this area!
