New 2023 BMW X1 - Compact Luxury Crossover SUV

BMW's entry-level SUV, the X1, has been one of our favorites for a while, thanks to its agile handling, enthusiastic personality and utilitarian form. The 2023 model has undergone a complete redesign that looks like a significant upgrade from last year's model with improved chassis, powertrain and interior.

The new BMW X1 is 53 mm longer, 24 mm wider, 44 mm taller and 22 mm wider at the wheelbase than its predecessor.

The overall design of the new BMW X1 is clearly an evolution of its predecessor. The vehicle has a more sculpted look and provides better road presence. It borrows important design cues from other modern BMW SUV nameplates like the X3, X5 and even XM, but it looks unmistakably like the X1! These include a larger square grille design, fresh-looking adaptive LED headlights, restyled bumpers with fresh trim, and a C-shaped taillight design reminiscent of many modern BMWs. The vehicle rolls on 18 inch wheels. There are skid plates on both the front and rear, and chrome has been used very carefully throughout. This could rank as the best looking version of the X1 to date.

The interior features a new curved infotainment display that sits elegantly above the dashboard, already seen on other BMW models such as the new X7, 7 Series and 3 Series Gran Sedan. This also made it possible to create a dashboard with a new storage area and a floating cabin with some pretty neat physical buttons. A small air conditioning vent is tastefully integrated into the dashboard, giving the interior a much sleeker look than before. According to BMW, the new X1 features a spacious 476-liter trunk and more space for rear-seat occupants.

The BMW X1 will have two engines in 2023. The gasoline engine is a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder turbo engine that generates 134 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque. BMW claims his 0-100 km/h time on this engine is 9.2 seconds. The diesel engine is a 2-liter turbocharged, with 147 hp and 360 Nm of torque he is the more powerful of the two. 0-100km/h acceleration is claimed to be 8.9 seconds, and both engines are mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission, he DCT for petrol and a torque converter automatic for diesel.

BMW ist größenwahnsinnig geworden 😢 Der x1 sollte der kleinste und wendigste sein und nicht viel größer wie der Top Ur x3! Die Parkplätze sind überall eng in den Städten besonders usw. Nach 20 Jahren BMW fahre ich jetzt Ateca Cupra! Schnell, Wendig und groß genug und preiswert! Statussymbole brauch ich nicht mehr! Ich fuhr meine BMW s wegen des wunderbaren 6 Zylinder Motors ohne Turbo ein Genuss!
