In this velocity time graph animation, we look at one dimensional motion with constant acceleration by simultaneously showing the actual one dimensional motion and the corresponding point on the v-t graph. Notice that the slope of the velocity time graph is constant -- that's the constant positive acceleration. So a constant positive acceleration can cause the object to slow down and turn around as it moves in one dimension!
