Karen definitely had one of the most beautiful voices of all time! The Carpenters had had an amazing career and know the words of every song.

The Carpenters were excellent. The loss of Karen to this days is very sad, it still breaks my heart. She was way yo young.

Hi Engelbert. I can just imagine your stress level at realizing that you lost your voice just before the concert. You sure have perseverance even in the face of adversity, and with the help of your doctor (what kind of magic potion was that?) and with your fearlessness and determination i.e. you didn't give up, I believe that you coaxed your voice to come back. Karen Carpenter had an angelic voice and it is a sad loss at her untimely passing. By the way, the Maple Leaf Gardens has been reconstructed into both a university athletic centre and a large grocery chain store. Thanks for sharing your memories. Hi engel, loved your story about the carpenters. I loved their music and karen had an unbeliveable beautiful voice . She was a real sweetheart, its so sad her passing I still shed tears when I hear some of her songs especially when she sings I ve just one wish on this christmas eve. May she rest in peace.
